New Clients

Your first visit, made easy

New salon nerves are real — especially with hair you care about. Here’s exactly what to expect at The Maria Salon, from booking to walking out the door feeling wonderful.

Step by Step

How your first appointment works

  1. Request Your Appointment

Use our online booking form to tell us about your hair and what you’re hoping for. We’ll contact you to confirm a time — nothing is final until we’ve spoken.

  2. We Talk First

Every first visit starts with a consultation at no obligation. We’ll discuss your hair history, your routine and your inspiration photos.

  3. Honest Recommendations

Your stylist will tell you what’s achievable today, what may take a few visits, and what it will involve — before anything begins.

  4. Your Service

Settle in with a warm welcome. Your service is unhurried, careful and focused entirely on you.

  5. The Reveal

We finish and style your hair so you see its full potential — and show you how the look comes together.

  6. Home Care Guidance

You leave with personalized advice for keeping your hair beautiful between visits.

First visits set the tone, so we take yours seriously. From the moment you arrive, the goal is simple: understand your hair and what you want from it before we do anything else.

Every new client appointment starts with an unhurried consultation — your hair’s history, your routine, your inspiration photos, your honest feelings about past salon experiences. Then we agree on a plan together, including realistic timing and maintenance, before the service begins.

If you’re considering a major color change or your hair has a complicated history, we may suggest a dedicated consultation visit first. It’s a small step that almost always leads to a better result — and it gives you a chance to meet us and see the salon with zero commitment.

Good to Know

Before you arrive

A few small things make a big difference to how much we can do in one visit — especially for color services.

A consultation at The Maria Salon
How should I prepare my hair?
Arrive with your hair in its natural, detangled state where possible. For most services, clean or day-two hair is ideal — no heavy products, oils or tight styles that leave deep marks.
Should I bring inspiration photos?
Yes, please! Two or three photos of looks you love help enormously. Photos of your own hair on a good day are just as useful — they show us what already works for you.
What should I share about my color history?
Everything — box dye, highlights, henna, chemical straightening, even from years ago. Past color lives in your hair longer than you’d think, and knowing about it keeps your hair safe and your results predictable.
How long will my visit take?
It depends on the service and your hair. Styling visits are usually shorter; color and treatment visits can take several hours. We’ll give you a realistic time estimate when we confirm your appointment, so you can plan your day.
What if I’m not sure what I want?
That’s completely fine — it’s what consultations are for. Book a hair consultation and we’ll explore options together with zero pressure.
Anything else I should know?
Arrive a few minutes early for your first visit, and let us know about any scalp sensitivities or allergies in your booking notes. If you need to reschedule, just give us as much notice as you can — see our salon policies for details.
